Laurie JohnsonLaurie Johnson

Laurie Johnson came to KUHF as an intern and was hired as a full-time reporter after her first summer working here in 2002. Since then, Laurie has honed her craft in producing daily news, long-form feature writing and audio production.

Laurie has been recognized for her work in public affairs reporting and use of sound in telling a story. She has covered a variety of topics for the Houston area, including two sessions of the state legislature, the crash of Space Shuttle Columbia, Enron and news from the Texas Medical Center. Her work has also been heard across the country on National Public Radio.

Laurie was raised in the Houston area and loves living and working in the city of her birth. She is an active member of Houston’s First Baptist Church and spends some of her free time volunteering in several church ministries.
