Monday, February 13 This afternoon on The Front Row listeners heard from clarinetist David Campbell and Artistic Director Michael Lowe as they talked with KUHF’s Dean Dalton about tonight’s Houston Chamber Orchestra concert. It will feature concerti by Mozart and Texas composer Charles Fitts. The program starts at 7:30 in the Hobby Center’s Zilkha Hall. More information is at http://www.thehobbycenter.org/. Audio here. Also, Alison Young sat down with Houston poet, literary critic and teacher Sybill Pittman Estess to talk about her latest collection of poems, Blue, Candled in January Sun. Dr. Estess will read from her work tomorrow evening at 5:30 in the Honors Commons at the University of Houston’s M.D. Anderson Library in a program called Love and Honors. Tomorrow at 7:30 Dr. Estess will read and sign copies of her book at Borders Bookstore, 3025 Kirby Dr. The book is published by Cherry Grove Collections. Audio here. |
