Alan Austin

General Director Alan Austin stopped in today and brought along his colleague Franz Krager, Director of Orchestras at the University of Houston, to talk about what's happening this season during the Texas Music Festival. . .

Starting next week with the Classical Minds Guitar Festival the Texas Music Festival features performances throughout the month of June including the TMF Jazz Project, The TMF Orchestra and the Rockwell Distinguished Artist Series. Alan and Franz spoke with KUHF Afternoon Concert host Chris Johnson. Audio here. 

Dean Dalton presided over a live studio session with members of the Houston early music group Canzonetta. They'll perform some of the works heard this afternoon and much more music on the concert Robin is to the Greenwood Gone. It features this continuo band playing music from the 16th and 17th centuries. The concert is tomorrow evening at 8:00 at the Emerson Unitarian Church, 1900 Bering Dr. More information is at 281-804-7810. Audio here.

Finally, Alison Young chatted with author Karen MacInerney about her latest book. Murder on the Rocks is her first mystery novel and she'll read from and sign copies of the book tomorrow afternoon between 4:30 and 6:00 at Murder by the Book, 2342 Bissonnet.  Audio here.
