Today on The Front Row we heard from the First Prize winner in this years Eleanor McCullom Competition for Young Singers. Tamara Wilson took home the $10,000 award with her performance of Verdi and Britten.

Alison Young took listeners to three different exhibitions around town. The Contemporary Arts Museum, The University of Houston’s Blaffer Gallery and Texas Southern University all have exhibitions of works for Black History Month as part of the city-wide showcase.Audio here.

Dean Dalton spoke with flutist Teresa Grawunder about her 15 year journey to develop her own resources through self-expression and improvisation. Her new CD is called Mysterium: Solo Flute Music for the Inner Journeys. Audio here.
